The Festival's 41st season of summer entertainment under the stars also boasts a Monday Night Showcase, expanded Café Table seating, and handling fee-free ticketing.

INCLINE VILLAGE, NV (December 2, 2012) - Extraordinary entertainment, fantastic food, family and friends will converge under the stars on the scenic shore of Lake Tahoe this summer as Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival (LTSF) - the premiere summer event in the Reno/Tahoe region - launches its 2013 season. Featuring live entertainment seven nights a week from July 12 - August 25 at Sand Harbor State Park, the season is anchored by the Festival's mainstage production of William Shakespeare's magical comic masterpiece, A Midsummer Night's Dream; performed Tuesdays through Sundays each week at 7:30 p.m. LTSF's Producing Artistic Director, Charles Fee directs the production.

"We are thrilled to continue Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival's forty-year legacy of producing extraordinary professional theater under the stars for the residents of and visitors to the Lake Tahoe region," said LTSF Producing Artistic Director, Charles Fee. "The breathtaking view of Lake Tahoe is the perfect backdrop for our 2013 production of Shakespeare's magical comedy."

Featuring gorgeous costumes, stunning sets and one of the most talented professional acting companies in the West, LTSF's A Midsummer Night's Dream is sure to enchant the entire family. An exhilarating night of midsummer madness, this magical comedy brims with mistaken identity, mismatched lovers and mischief-making fairies. Boldly inspired by the marvelously mod influences of a rock ‘n' roll infused 1960s London, the Festival's production of Shakespeare's comic masterpiece ensnares two pairs of lovers and a rustic troupe of would-be actors in a magical-mystery tour de force. A Midsummer Night's Dream is a joyful celebration of love lost, transformed and restored that casts a powerfully pleasing spell on audiences of all ages.

A six-event Monday Night Showcase performance series will augment the Festival's 2013 mainstage production and feature a diverse array of live musical and entertainment acts from a variety of genres. Monday Night Showcase performances will commence at 7:30 p.m. each Monday beginning July 15, 2013. Details and complete lineup will be announced at a future date.

The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival's 2013 season also features:

  • Expanded Cafe Table & Chairs seating: Due to high audience demand in 2012, LTSF will offer additional Cafe Tables and Chairs seating opportunities in 2013. This season patrons may select from tables that accommodate two or four patrons.

  • No ticket handling fees: Ticket handling fees have been eliminated again for all 2013 performances. The patron-friendly policy applies to all purchases (online, phone, etc.).

  • Assigned Lower Gallery seating: In 2013, high-backed chairs will be waiting for patrons in the Lower Gallery seating section.

  • Complimentary Upper & Side Gallery chairs: Pre-set chairs will be available for patrons in the Upper and Side Gallery seating sections. Open beach for blanket seating in the sand is also available.

A family-friendly attraction for over four decades, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival experience features extraordinary, live, summer entertainment at a stunning lakeside location that is complimented by al fresco dining at its on-site restaurant - Shakespeare's Kitchen.
