SEASONAL POSITIONS 

The 2014 Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival will run from July 11th through August. 24th.   Most positions are available during the actual run of the Festival, however, please note that some positions may offer pre/post hours.  These hours are generally "on-call" and may be offered to employees as they are hired. They would involve the set up the venue during the months of late May through the end of June.

2014 seasonal Office positions


Telephone Sales Agents- Seasonal Position; Full and Part Time

All members of the ticket sales crew will work varied hours in the main office based upon business. These individuals will display ultimate customer service skills and be willing to work in a fast paced environment during business hours. The ability to multi task with a calm attitude and smile is vital to this position. The main function of the sales crew will be taking phone ticket orders through an online ticketing system as well as provide customer service via a walk up window.  Familiarity with data input, attention to detail and organizational skills are a must. These positions begin in mid-June and run through the end of the Festival season, August 24th.  The sales office is open 8am - 6pm seven days a week.

2014 seasonal "House" Venue positions

On Call General Labor
The Festival has various needs before, during and after the season where general labor is needed. Hours are not set. Projects may include, but are certainly not limited to venue set up, chair set up/take down, set load in/out, general moving of equipment and general cleaning of the venue. Projects would vary from easy/monotonous to challenging and/or heavy duty lifting and moving. Hours would be on call and hourly wage determined per project.

Volunteer Coordinator; Full and/or Part Time
The primary responsibility for this position is to assist in the design, planning and implementation of the Festival volunteer program as well as recruit, select and schedule volunteers for the season. The VC will organize the annual volunteer party and orientation, conduct and lead the training of volunteers, both at the orientation as well as on-the-job, as needed. Supervise all volunteers, including check-in and check-out. The VC will assign nightly duties to all volunteers and confirm their positions and hours for the night. In conjunction with House Manager, the VC will manage the closing of Festival on a nightly basis, including amphitheater clean-up and volunteer check-out. The VC must have a calm demeanor, be adept at working with volunteers with varied needs and capabilities. They will also be able to respond to situations in a professional and constructive manner. Working hours are from 3:30 pm - closing (appx. 11:00 pm). This position starts April 1st with an average of 8 hours per week until full/part time starts, July 11th.

Site Attendant-Seasonal Position; Full and/or Part Time
The primary emphasis for this position is to work mainly outside of the amphitheatre before and during the performances to insure the safety and comfort of the guests. Duties include preparation & cleaning of amphitheater for each evenings performance, assisting guests, watering of landscaping, keeping the food court clear of litter and trash, removal of trash from amphitheatre and the cleaning of amphitheatre after the performance. The Site Attendant must have a calm demeanor, flexible attitude to working hours and be able to respond to situations in a professional and constructive manner. Working hours are from 2:30 pm - closing (appx. 11:00 pm) nightly or split shift 9:00 am -11:30 am and 5:00 pm - closing (appx. 11:00 pm)

Assistant Site Attendant-Seasonal Position; Full and/or Part Time
The primary emphasis for this position is to assist guests in the amphitheater and to insure their seats are comfortable and level. This position will also be responsible to help prepare the theater daily and assist lead site attendant in the cleaning of theater and removal of trash at the end of the performance. A strong ability to move about the steep grade of sand within the theater is necessary. Working hours are from 3:30 pm through closing each night scheduled (appx. 11:00 pm)

Assistant House Coordinator-Seasonal Position; Part Time (3-4 nights per week)
These individuals will assist House Manager with the duties associated with preparing the venue for patrons to arrive, seating of guests, general customer service and simple housekeeping duties. This is a very interactive position with our guests. Dependability and ability to work comfortably with the public is a must. A strong ability to move about the steep grade of sand within the theater is necessary. Working hours are from 3:30 pm - closing (appx. 11:00 pm) nightly

Merchandise Coordinator- Seasonal Position; Full and/or Part Time
The primary emphasis for this position is to work in the Merchandise Booth selling souvenirs and apparel to the general public. This position will coordinate inventory, stocking, merchandising, set-up and operation of merchandise booth, including opening and closing of booth and reconciling cash drawer. This position requires agility and light strength. These individuals will be very customer service oriented and willing to work in any capacity to provide excellent service. The Merchandise Coordinator will work evenings as scheduled from 5:00 p.m. through the close of intermission for each performance.

Venue Concierge- Seasonal Position; Full and/or Part Time
The primary emphasis for this position is to work at the entrance to reserved seating to check in all premium seating patrons, VIP's and guests with special needs and to usher them to their assigned seating. This position may serve as a point person to resolve ticketing issues or otherwise provide assistance in the venue. These individuals will be very customer service orientated and willing to work in any capacity to provide excellent service. They must have calm, friendly and professional demeanor at all times and is able to respond to questions or customer problems in an informative and constructive manner. This position will work evenings as scheduled from 5:15 p.m. through the conclusion of the performance, appx. 11:00 pm

Box Office Venue Liaison- Seasonal Position; Full and Part Time
The primary emphasis for this position is to work at the entrance to reserved seating to communicate specific issues with the Box Office via Festival radio. This position may serve as a point person to resolve ticketing issues or otherwise provide assistance in the venue. These individuals will be very customer service orientated and willing to work in any capacity to provide excellent service. They must have calm, friendly and professional demeanor at all times and is able to respond to questions or customer problems in an informative and constructive manner. This position will work evenings as scheduled from 5:00 p.m. through the start of each performance, appx. 8:00 pm

Box Office Sales Agents- Seasonal Position; Full and/or Part Time
Based at on-site Box Office at Sand Harbor, these individual(s) must have ability to work in fast-paced atmosphere. They must have calm, friendly and professional demeanor at all times and is able to respond to questions or customer problems in an informative and constructive manner. Familiarity with data input, attention to detail and organizational skills are vital to this position. Box Office Agents will be scheduled from 4:30pm - 8pm on evenings assigned. These individuals may also work shifts as Box Office Venue Liaison.

 

Please note: Because of the fluctuating demands of the Festival atmosphere, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, enjoying the spirit of "The Team" , therefore assist with other duties as needed.
