A Midsummer NightMARE

"A Midsummer NightMARE", an extravagant production unlike anything you've ever witnessed, will return to Sand Harbor August 26 & 27 after debuting to sold out audiences last summer. This spectacular show, created by Christopher Childers, former Cirque du Soleil performer and current artistic director for "Le Reve" in Vegas, transforms an innocent evening into an ethereal experience. A wild mix of dancers, contortionists, aerialists and stilt walkers transcend reality with their masterful artistry. Breath-taking and elaborate costumes, taunting music and the splendor of the Tahoe sky will arouse your senses. Tickets prices range from $125 - $27.

"It's sort of an Alice in Wonderland falling through the rabbit hole type experience - a little bit of a hallucination, dream and nightmare all kind of mixed in to one."
-- Christopher Childers on "A Midsummer NightMARE's" story line

Lake Tahoe's foray into the surreal was conceived by internationally acclaimed artistic director Christopher Childers, who incidentally lives in Reno!

Childers grew up in the San Francisco area and has performed since the age of three as a dancer in television, film and on the world stage. He developed his distinctive dance style from working with top directors and choreographers including: Twlyla Tharp, Jerrome Robbins, Madonna, Prince, Moses Pendleton and others. He has performed at the Lido de Paris and spent seven years with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, first as a principal character, the Red Bird, in Mystere then as dance and movement coach for the Las Vegas productions of O and Mystere.

"When, after almost two hours of ooohs and ahhhhs, the Night-MARE finally came to a close with a performance by the Sideswipe martial arts performance team, the audience came alive and gave the cast a lengthy standing ovation..."
