Capacity Crowd Expected at First Young Shakespeare Performance of 2008 SeasonJul 21, 2008

WHAT: The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival's D.G. Menchetti Young Shakespeare program is preparing for its first performance of the season and all available seats are officially filled. The annual Young Shakespeare program presents an interactive, one hour interpretation of Shakespeare's classic, A Midsummer Night's Dream, set in contemporary times and created with the young audience member in mind. A total of 14 free matinee performances are offered throughout the Reno-Tahoe region beginning July 22 and running through August 8. RSVP's are required for all Young Shakespeare performances. WHEN: Tuesday, July 22 at 10 a.m. WHERE: Sand Harbor State Park, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival stage WHY: Educating youth on the importance of the arts is a primary mission of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. Now in its 7th year, the Young Shakespeare program is produced in collaboration with The Nevada Shakespeare Company and offers a great introduction for children to the mastery of William Shakespeare and the wonders of outdoor theatre.
