We are delighted to present this year’s Showcase Series performances. Due to the enormous popularity of some of our Showcase Series events, we strongly recommend that you prepare in advance for the purchasing process. Reserved seating tickets for some events will sell out within minutes, so please consider general admission seating when purchasing tickets. There are no bad seats in the house. And remember, we have a variety of wonderful performances this season; so if your first choice is not available, please consider exploring something new. We have something for everyone!

Experience a joyful journey through jazz and adult contemporary music when vocalist, composer and four-time Grammy Award nominee Denise Donatelli joins the 18-piece Reno Jazz Orchestra. Enjoy a swinging night of music and song that includes favorites from the 20s through the 50s and today with selections from Donatelli’s “Best Jazz Album of the Year.” Don’t miss this family-friendly concert performance featuring the big band sounds of the RJO alongside the stage-stealing charisma this amazing jazz artist.

Trails & Vistas World Concert will close out the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival Showcase Series with music from around the world. SambaDá musically unites the Americas celebrating the one common language that touch the hearts of all people throughout the world- MUSIC! Based in the rich musical traditions of Brazil, SambaDá also references salsa and cumbia, and blends them playfully with funk and reggae beats.

This extraordinary concert also features Tim Eriksen, “widely regarded as the best ballad singer of his generation” (BBC Radio). A consummate performer, Eriksen combines hair-raising vocals with savvy arrangements for fiddle, banjo, guitar and bajo sexton – transforming American tradition with Southern Appalachian and Irish songs. Embark on a journey down the Silk Road with Nava Dance Collective, under the direction of Miriam Peretz, performing traditional, sacred, and ethno-contemporary dance. Fared Shafinurey will captivate audiences with his powerful voice and soulful ingenuity on the setar – weaving in his own lyrics in Persian and English. Enjoy world rhythms with Liza Carbé and JP Durand (two founding members of the acclaimed Southern California band Incendio), a performance that will showcase a powerful ensemble of twin-guitar melodies. The evening opens with Mountain Eagle from the Washeshu nation of Lake Tahoe and local musician Angèle Carroll. End the night dancing under the stars!
